ABOUT US

We  introduce the Heavenly Father to the fatherless.  We show children that they are chosen, worthy, loved, and have been adopted into the Kingdom of Heaven.  We invite the vulnerable to have a seat at our table and eat.  When physical needs are met, we then introduce them to their Heavenly Father.  We train up the ones, once called orphans, in the ways of the Lord so they can be statistic breakers and usher revivals into the nations.  We stay away from the typical orphanage style buildings and instead provide safe family style homes for each child.

Our focus is physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual healing through trauma therapy and inner healing.

We do not show the faces of minor children to protect their identities. We are against all forms of exploitation of children.

Safety is our priority. All staff members, missionaries, house parents and ministry guests have passed a background check.

Our homes do not look like orphanages or facilities. They are family homes with no more than 8 children. All children live with trained, vetted, and background checked house parents.

We do not have short term mission groups coming in and out of our children's homes because we want the children to build healthy attachments and heal from trauma.

Story of George Muller

George Müller

“The children are dressed and ready for school. But there is no food for them to eat,” the house mother of the orphanage informed George Muller. George asked her to take the 300 children into the dining room and have them sit at the tables. He thanked God for the food and waited. George knew God would provide food for the children as he always did. Within minutes, a baker knocked on the door. “Mr. Muller,” he said, “last night I could not sleep. Somehow I knew that you would need bread this morning. I got up and baked three batches for you. I will bring it in.”  Soon, there was another knock at the door. It was the milkman. His cart had broken down in front of the orphanage. The milk would spoil by the time the wheel was fixed. He asked George if he could use some free milk. George smiled as the milkman brought in ten large cans of milk. It was just enough for the 300 thirsty children.” -Taken from georgemuller.org

George Müller (1805-1898) was a preacher and director of Ashley Downs, an orphanage he began in Bristol, England.  George Müller decided early on that he was never going to receive a salary as a minister, but would instead trust the Lord completely for all his financial needs.  He also determined that he would not ask anyone for money or even hint at his needs to others. He directed his needs to the Lord alone and expected God to answer every prayer.  Mr. Müller also decided that he would never go into debt.  These financial principles decided early is his life would guide him as he began his orphan ministry in England.  Müller wanted to show that God is faithful and hears prayer.  He desired for God to be magnified because everything the orphans needed would be provided by God through prayer and faith.  The excerpt above is only one example out of many of God providing that Müller recorded in his meticulous records while caring for orphans in Bristol.  George Müller is a great powerhouse in the Christian faith.  His story is inspiring and calls us higher.  Let us all desire to have the faith that Mr. Müller had….let us prepare the table with the same expectation and faith George Müller had.

OUR STORY

From our personal dinner tables, the ministry grew to an empty closet that we called our "orphan closet." We would buy clothes for children overseas in faith, believing that one day we would be giving these clothes to vulnerable children. A year later we were handing out those clothes to vulnerable children in Haiti. In 2010 right after the Haiti earthquake, our "orphan closet" turned into our first children's home and the ministry of caring for vulnerable children was birthed.

Preparing the Table was started first around a table ministering to our children, then to an orphan closet, and then to our first children's home in Haiti, and now it has expanded to our second children's home in the Dominican Republic.

Our ministry name "Preparing the Table" was inspired by George Muller who set the table in faith believing that God would provide all the needs of the orphans he cared for.

We have witnessed first hand astonishing miracles. We have seen signs, wonders, and many miracles in Haiti. We've seen Jesus physically walk into our children's home, deliver, and heal. We've witnessed and are still witnessing a great repentance & revival break out in Haiti & the DR.

When the miraculous healings happened we had skeptics and accusers, BUT GOD defended us. Scripture says, that God will prepare a table in the presence of our enemies and that is exactly what God did. God not only restored and redeemed but allowed our ministry to be debt free, expand, and start another home in the Dominican Republic.

Our first ministry has and will always be around our own personal dinner tables ministering to the Lord, our spouses, children, and family.
